Klaus was in the Level 5 observation room, where he could often be found these days. There were few enough of them on this level that it was most often empty, and it was a welcome change from their suite. He was sitting on the floor at the very back of the room, his back to the wall, and he was sketching on a sheet of paper. The same animal, over and over again.

When Amy walked in, he was in the process of balling up the paper as he pushed up to his feet.

Amy hesitated in the doorway, and then she flashed a small smile, moving closer. "Hey," she said with a small, perfunctory wave. "I have a question. Or, really, a couple." And she's not yet asking him how he is, because that's something for a little down the road and honestly, the way that things have been the last few weeks, she's going to imagine that the answer is 'not well'.
